It's a brand new year, full of potential to reach the goals you set for yourself. NOW is the time to evaluate what they are and how you plan to achieve them. Is this year going to be like the years past, where you set goals and for whatever reason (or excuse!) you don't obtain those goals? Or is this year going to be YOUR YEAR? No matter what your goals are, whether they are fitness or health-related or not, the number one thing that holds most of us back from achieving them is....YOU! That's right. YOU are preventing yourself from reaching your goals. Excuses like I'm too busy, or I have to work nights, or my genes are terrible, or WHATEVER your brand of excuse is....That's within you and it's what makes you fail and have to start over year after year. I can't tell you how many people I have talked to about exercise and weight-loss, ongoing, for over 2 years now, and they haven't even started. That's 2 years of your life, man!! You can't get that back. Don't listen to that negative voice in your head...It's wrong.
Start today and make a plan. Don't wait for ideal conditions, because, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there are NEVER any ideal conditions!! If you set out to go to the gym or workout 4 days a week, but can't go that often, don't put it off, go 2 days until you can fit it in 4 days! You must surround yourself with people that you want to be more like. Those that are doing what you would like to see yourself doing in a year or so. Make friends with people who go to the gym, or those who eat healthier than you do. They are a good influence. Limit the negative exposure in your life!
